a bad encounter at the bank & mid week wedding reception

we were at the bank earlier, to check on some housing loan. well to some extend it was a scary thought, damn this is going to be a long commitment by the both of us, but i was also rather excited that we were purchasing our first property together. but what got me all upset was the person who attended to us, she was supposedly the 'public relations manager' which had very little knowledge of people skills. she was rude, quite abrupt, and very judgmental. i don't know if it's just her, or whether she had a bad day, or it's just the fact that she was lacking of all good communications skills.

PR lady: how come ah you're applying for your loan now? a bit late right?

us: we received the SNP recently, and the fact that we have been in and out of the
country... so yeah, we're just wondering will we be able to get compensated on the 2nd payment?

PR lady: yes, you will, but we will only be able to settle everything up to 1 month! and why ah are you purchasing an apartment for this amount? a bit expensive right? for just an apartment?

us: (in shocked mode), if only looks could kill she would have been dead within that second she
mentioned that! we looked at her and said this was an apartment with a commercial area below it, and the fact that it is placed in a rather strategic area. i'm sure it had something to do with the land area.

PR lady: that's why la, i'm just wondering. a bit expensive huh? i just wondering la... also ah you have any other obligations ah? you got kids or not?

us: well, don't you think the prime areas and lands in kl the prices have gone up? so there you go, the answer you're looking for... (at this point, i almost lost my cool... thank god hubs was with me! then i answered her no, we don't have kids yet. i understand they wanted to find out if we had any other commitments, but kids would not take up ALL your savings la right? i could be wrong but you just had to be there to hear her intonations and stuff...)

anyway, pointless if i was going to lose my cool, i wasn't asking for a personal
loan from her. it wasn't her money to begin with. so yeah. but can you imagine
the amount of things i had to say right after the meeting!!

i was rather upset and angry with the fact that the banks do not emphasize on superb
services, no wonder thousand and millions of clients regardless of which ever bank i'm referring to decides to switch to their competitors, this is a true fact.

it was already 4 o'clock and i was contemplating to go to the saloon, i was rather annoyed with the situation at the bank, so i decided not to go to the saloon, due to the fact that the aunty
that attends to me would have 1001 comments or suggestions. i think i had enough to deal with already... i decided the best thing to do is to go home, and so we did.

we planned to leave the house by 730 p.m. as the v.i.p's or dif-dif was arriving by 8. but i kid you not, it was madness... the jam going in and out of k.l. it was unbearable, i know the jam is not as bad as in jakarta cikz, but it wasn't tolerable for that day at least :)we arrived at shangri-la by 830 p.m. and we were earlier than the v.i.p's!damn, i thought we could avoid the protocol all together. anyway, the wedding reception was attended by 1,200 guests that night, the hall could only accommodate up to 1000, i think and the rest of them was placed outside the hall, but they did not have to fret about it, place was well equipped with cool gadgets, big screen and good sound system, etc.

hubs was rather happy he met a lot of his ex-high school mates. i guess its been a while since they last met... the whole renjis-merenjis finished just before 10, and then the food was served. well reason being, the attendees:

Raja Perlis & Wife, Raja Muda of Perlis, 5 ministers, and manymany more! so, go figure! they had 100 committee members organizing the whole wedding, from the engagement right up to the reception.

they had approximately 13 cameraman at work, the decoration was pretty and romantic,
hall was filled with fresh flowers and candles, the aroma of the flowers was nice. it is by far the most grandest (doesn't matter if the word does not exist) wedding that we have attended. the whole mumbo jumbo ended at 12 a.m. and i was slowly relapsing towards my fever, due to my stupid sore throat and the fact that i had my gastric. boohoo
