arrived in malacca by lunch time, it has changed tremendously! it has been what? approximately 3 years since i was there. wow, i was impressed...
checked into equitorial, and mind you the hotel there is a lot nicer than some hotels back here in kl. haha... was in malacca to accompany my dad for a medical check up. so i thought, why not i need the short break too! had lunch at the food court in makhota parade, and walked around for a while.. but i wasn't in the mood to buy anything for some apparent reason...
got back at the hotel and chilled out watched tv - a whole lot of ellen degeneres talk show and martha stewart, very informative, creative and entertaining. the view from the hotel was pretty spectacular, we could see that malacca had attempted a project similarly to the one in dubai, the palm... but of course it does not have the same appeal, but hey its a great improvement from the monotanous looks that we have here...
hubs joined us later as he was from JB, and then we dropped dad off to the hospital for a nights observation - doctor had to monitor his sleeping errr... habits? errr... i don't know the specific word for it but it has something to do with his blood sugar and how he gets disrupted and errr, well at least now you know i'd make a terrible doctor! haha can't comprehend the whole scientific terminology for it. that's why i'm a communication student :D
we had dinner at this restaurant called thai classic near the ayer keroh exit. yummmm. for those food enthusiast, you should give it a try and the price is reasonably cheap. the restaurant looks attractive, it has a lot of the malay element - wood with carvings and you even have a patio where you can sit "bersila" - its like eating at home or at a kampung house. i'd give the ambiance an 8/10 (at night). we really enjoyed the outing.
right after, we had a quick teh tarik in front of the equitorial hotel and i saw an interesting menu - roti canai with "kuah asam". so cool, you can only get this in malacca as they are known for the baba nyonya menu.
we should all make a trip there one of these days, it would be really fun!
