lil sweetness, turning one

we old farts went nuts looking for a year old 'eleni's' present today... wondering, figuring out what in the whole world would she want, and yes it is pretty difficult okay. even after you've identified the stuff or clothes that you would want to get for her then you'd have to decide what size, should it be fitting or you're thinking a year in advance? hmm... the dilemma, seriously.

we kept on walking and picking everything up, i was quite lucky i had told mom earlier to purchase some polo dresses for the mini-tots! so we kept it aside, thank god we were thinking of future and advance birthdays, but we're talking about leni here, so we just had to add more stuff to it, she got - a dress, shoes, and barney cd's compliments from uncle hadi, auntie shereen and uncle nash. but the one who really had an unfortunate event was farouk, he was pretty excited about getting her prezzies, and as he was writing a birthday card for her he'd left his handphone on the counter and walked off right after, oh goodness lord, you know these things don't last not even for 1 second it being on the counter.

so we went back to look for it but, wasn't surprise that the cashiers had not seen it or what-so-ever!

desa park city has limited place for guests to park, so we were told to park near its super market, and to our surprise we had someone picking us up from there! hehe... we got to the apartment in style! so so cute!

party was all planned out thoroughly, they really thought about her first party, everything was purely decorated by her mom. yes, hand made, everything right down to the party packs. they even had the jumping castle! imagine that, first birthday? cool huh? also i just found out today before they blew the candle, leni and her uncle was born on the same date, the same time, by the same gynae and nurses?! how weird is that?? and they're 33 years apart! and she's so attached to her uncle which i think is horribly ADORABLE!

they had no freaky clowns around, only had freaky aunts and unc's! :D we totally enjoyed the get-together!

eid adha

its funny that our country only celebrates eid adha for a day! other middle eastern countries would emphasize more on todays celebration like 3-4 days i think... and its more meriah on this day... but ours we emphasize more on eid mubarak. hmm... i wonder why?

anyway this year i wanted to do something different, yeah experienced it first hand, well not that i actually did the sembelih part... but i took the initiative this year to go down to malacca to witness the process of 'korban'. to be honest, since its raya and i should not be telling lies, ermm... i witnessed it from afar! hehe, i cannot bare the thought of being next to the chosen 'lembu' and hear its last gasp of breath! cannot la seriously. plus i do not want to feel guilty for looking at it in the eye... yes dramatic!

so what myself and amir did was greeted all the pakcik's that made it possible for us to have a sempurna korban, passed them the list and stood outside for a good half an hour and sat in the car while they slit the throat of the lembu...

hubs managed to witness the whole thing, yes its the second time and yes he should be proud of the fact that he doesn't faint or pretends to faint by looking at the gushing blood! well i think i'd be totally opposite of that, can't stand the sight of blood. period. not referring to the menstrual cycle ok.

anyway after they had gone through the whole process of de-skinning the a-mi-nal i decided to walk down and talked to all... bracing myself slowly but surely, so i can claim that i almost completed the whole process of being involved in the korban.

dropped by zul's place at ermm... can't really recall the name but i know its after lubok china... yeah okay its at the border of malacca and negeri sembilan... we had some lemang, nasi impit, rendang itik, kuah kacang, triffle, jelly, and nescafe! right after we headed straight to the surau to see the distribution done :) i was seriously pleasantly happy that we made the trip, it was fulfilling.

however, by the time we got back to kl i was just too tired to go anywhere and do anything... even missed hani's open house... sorry love will make it up to you!

hmm... to even think of the weekend is driving me nuts! we're going to be super busy with loads of activities! :( its gonna be one super busy weekend, wish me luck!

missing pieces, united

almost done...

its really almost done... after 3 weeks!? took shit loads of our time, but i'm satisfied...

tomorrow they're fixing the heart of the house, the kitchen...

friday they're sending over the rest of the organs, which is the stove & oven, washing machine, aircond and water heater...

saturday the bowels will be settled, we'll be dating the plumber...

monday the rest of the limbs will be united, sofa, dressing table, dining table and chairs and etc... oh-ohh wait we can't forget the mirrors, we need mirrors... yes us vainies can't live without it!

and then we're bringing over the accessories, which will be the clothes, tv, soundsystem etc...

oh good lord, the effort and hardache is finally paying off, thank goodness.

pleasantly surprised?

saturday

its becoming more of a routine that every saturday we wake up go for bfast and head straight to bandar utama, ontop of that we'll be bringing 'roti canai' and teh tarik bungkus for farouk. you know us hard laborers are really easy to please, hehe...

we had to expedite the process of painting the house, and i needed to know that by this week we're left with no more painting activities but packing, and getting the furnitures/fixtures sent or installed in the house! its been driving me mad that the house only has one miserable carpet that we sit on everyday to relax, and now the additional stuff that we have is - cupboard in the master bedroom, the whole bedroom set for the guest room, and a sofa which is still wrapped.

theres loads to clean, adui! everytime i think about it my back starts hurting!! terus sakit, shit! i think best we call the pros to do it... right?

oh have i updated you on my friendly new found friend? yes no? seriously they're so sweet! i just can't wait for you to meet them, my four legged friend. male and female, one looks like she's got the prints of a cow, and the other just looks like an ordinary tabby with perut boroi! i like. they refuse to leave the house and everytime they hear our voices, while opening the gate they just run straight to the car and wait til they can chill in the house, walaupun saya tak menjemput! anyway, i'm just glad - its therapeutic for me. the female which we call her - 'boutique' yes a name given by her master, if it was me i'd call her 'moomoo'. the other male cat is called 'pipin' but he usually acts like a piping tom! seriously, he's just so curious, he wants the human touch and when you give it to him, he runs away and returns for more... yeah i know 'weirdo'.

by eve we got home and got ready, wrapped the prezzie and made our way to palate pallate for nurul's surprise party, organized by dahlia. when we got there we were impressed by all the decor! - the murals, stencils, artsy-fartsy collection they're just fantastic looking! dahl had booked the whole top floor, and ordered buffet for us! yeay.

the menu

nachos - with 3 dips
ceasar salad with chicken
lasagna - which was yummylicious
spaghetti seafood marinara
lollipop chicken - also yummylicious
minute steak

okay that's as far as i can remember, i think i'd do something similar for the house warming party.

then everyone started arriving bit by bit, and then walked in the birthday girl, everyone screamed "surpriseeeEEeeeEEeeeeEEEeeeEE!" she just stood there, stunted! hihi... and then she was just being the chirpy girl she is, jumping and clapping and looking for those who was responsible for this, she hugged dahl and piej. which was soooooo nice!

met up with a couple of my old friends, and yes by old here we're referring to age! haha... nahh, old as in we've been friends for quite sometime since i was 14 but we lost contact for a while and ta-da! 7-9 years down the road, we're laughing at each others stupidity.

i really had fun... it was pleasant. hubs was also enjoying himself, he was introduced to zain and i guess it was just non stop chatting between them, the conversations we're pretty serious to what i could eavesdrop on! they were talking about politics and all... teehee... totally switched of me brains that night, didn't want to exhaust it :D

all of us came out to play that night! and yes, i'm referring to all the cam whores if you'd like to see the evidence, please visit our facebook profiles! knock yourself out. just jangan terkezut.

it was a pleasant eve...

a little quality time

friday - 14/12

got to pavillion by 1145a.m. headed straight to the food court and had our brunch. hubs and myself thought it'd be good to get away from the whole mumbo jumbo we've been dealing with as in the packing, painting, fumes of turpentine *which by the way i usually get high from* the non-stop laughing! (even i find myself irritating, imagine the rest)

right after we got our tickets for 'i am legend' the show was at 250p.m. so we had ample of time to walk around for window shopping or some serious splurging! errr... which i wasn't into, seriously.

but then again, who the heck am i kidding!?! when you leave a girl to walk around a new shopping mall with good retail shops around, you can't trust her not to buy anything... especially when no one is looking at her, its less of a guilt for her you know! trust me.

i spend sometime in forever 21 again, just love going to the accessories section! they are f-u-n-k-y-! me likey. okay but at the end of the day, i did not buy any of those i bought 2 dresses and a top, haha... which i had no intentions to... silly me.

met up with hubs at pull and bear, another funky looking shop... love the fact that their clothes collection is colorful! and they even have men's there, so it's pretty cool. its almost similar to topshop/topman, accept for the t-shirts for men that they have here in pull and bear is way cuter, and if you're into the sesame street collection, this is the place where you'd want to buy it from.

walked and walked again, passed by jco thought of at least treating ourselves to some good quality donuts, but i can freaking forget about it! the line, oh wait, lines? to buy a dozen of donuts would at least take 30 minutes for me to queue up... not worth it right? 30 minutes of waiting, and the fats would be permanently on my thighs! fo-get-ta-bout-it! and mind you the line has been like this since they first opened the shop in pavi! i guess i just have to wait for my 'cafe paul' to open up.

watched 'i am legend', the story line is pretty common, accept for the part where they found a cure for cancer and then it turned them into these monsterous zombies! and bla bla bla he was the hero and bla bla bla. but i would have to admit, will smith's emotions were extremely shown and kudos to him for that. show wasn't bad at all, not like 30 days of night! shit.

we left the mall and used the smart-tunnel, and headed straight to another mall after! haha... yes we were mall hopping, we were at gardens... wanted to check robinsons out, for some elegant looking furnitures... but but but they were still expensive. boohoo.

walked around, had dins and called it a night. we were totally exhausted by the time we got home, and then to relax it all off we watched 'good luck chuck' which is hilarious by the way, i would vouch for you to watch it... i was laughing so hard at their stupidity, and miss alba being the clutz that i am... but at least now i can say i am not half as bad as she was. phew.

today i'm a freak

i've been told like for the gazillionth time that i'm such a freak, cause i do certain things in a certain manner!

how i fold my towels/t-shirts/dresses/etc - it all has to be folded in the same manner, as for towels the border will have to face downwards and the rest of the towels would have to be arranged in the same manner. so yes, some might say i have OCD! obsessive compulsive disorder.

cups/glasses/canned drinks/etc - will have to be placed on top of the coaster, i just don't like the table being wet... nothing wrong about that right?

i seriously doubt it :) or at least i'd like to think so.

i think it only goes with how i arrange my stuff that's it. i don't have to wash my hands in a certain number of time, i don't have to keep on checking if the door is locked when i'm at home just to make sure that i've locked it, i don't have to switch on the lights on an even number just to make sure something bad doesn't happen. see, not that bad right? right?

but today i noticed something different about me, as i was using the brush and roller to paint the frame of my doors, i noticed that i would not barge an inch to change my strokes, haha... be it looking ugly what so ever, i just pushing it from down to top, or the other way round from top to bottom. the sad thing was i did not start in the middle, nor i did the touch up from the middle. what the heck was wrong with me? hihi.

and and, everytime after touching a cat! any cat for that matter i will make sure my hands are washed.
errgh. i get a little freaked out if those i'm NOT close to, share from my straw/fork & spoon cause, let's face it mister/miss i don't know where those lips have been/done! it's just a NO NO for mua!

see i told you, i'm slowly realizing that i'm a circus freak. shit.

read in a magazine that the sufferers are usually identified by their quirky habits, do you think i have OCD based on my quirkiness? *oh god, i hope not.

do you have OCD? wanna share your freakish acts with me? by freakish act its got nothing to do with your (wildest fantasy okay!)

oh ya, last night we saw 30 days of night! more like it should have been called 30 days of BORING night! thought it was going to be super scary, or sort of thriller or exciting la at least. i was bored out of my mind. watch it so we can bitch about it ok!

lacking of retail therapy

today was an off day for us construction workers! since hubs had to go for a meeting in ampang, and i haven't gone for my retail therapy in such a long time that i think the moss is already growing in my wallet! so i tagged along.

however, time and jam did not permit him to drop me off straight at pavillion so i had no choice but to walk around ampang point! haha, yes it was the second time that i was there - well nothing much changed la. seriously. plus they did not have the best of shop selections too! as i was walking i came across this shop which had really nice looking 'baju kurung' with batik designs on it so i decided to just pop in and ask the sales lady how much it was, and i was thinking ah well... can't be that pricey la, seriously - when she told me the price i was like oh? are you serious? you're not freaking kidding me are you? one set of baju kurung was RM529 and now since its on sale its RM495! haha... gila ah... okay moving on.

well just to pass time i walked to look for prezzies, "my eleni's bday is coming up soon!" can't believe it she's 1! woohoo that heart breaker is growing up so fast. i couldn't make my mind up... either to go with clothes which i think is pretty cliche and dull, or to get some games for her. better still i wanted to get her a bracelet, no not those RM10 for 3 ok!! i wanted to get the winnie the pooh's set or the disney gold set... she'll look puurrdy with it. you see lacking of retail therapy is making me so slow on making decisions on what to buy.

finally, hubs meeting ended at 1230p.m. and we made our way to pavillion through the massive jam. as soon as we arrived we headed straight for the food court as our stomach was doing the rock band performance already! we wanted to eat the tepanyaki, but the only thing they serve was rice - so it was a no no... then we decided to eat at madam kwan's. as we were walking i bumped into some of my ex-colleague. we exchanged small nods to acknowledge each other as i did not get to know them well enough.

we managed to walk around for less than an hour til hubs' next meeting, and i just had to check forever 21 out, since the rave about the shop has been going on since the last 2 weeks! so yeah... and finally when we got to the entrance, with the spot light focused on the entrance and slowly i heard that song... in my ears... "ahhhh..." you know that song? yes? no? maybe it just goes for me then... WOW i was impressed with how they organized the place, yippie. just browsed around, i will get to do my therapy on friday i hope.

we left briefly after, got home and started packing! shit i've got loads of shit to pack and its not even funny... damn it!! damn damn damn... ergh i wish i could just hire professional packers, but i would sound so mengada and i'll be wasting money... APA NI!!! semua tak kena... damn it.

anyway while i was having dins, i received a message from my colleague stating that he closed his first deal today! woohoo congratulations dinesh, told you so, i knew you could do it! hehe... eh dah puji-puji belanja k! hahaha... that's seriously so kodi. just seal 2 more deals my friend and you'll be able to reap in the commission!

weekend thinga-mag-jig

in the last 3 weeks i had a lot going on in my life. it was juggling between work and the new house, i was just so devastated that i could not give my very best to either one as i had always been spaced out right after work. however, i had finally made a choice, even though i was so keen on working and all and i was getting the hang of getting my ears all red and numb, i decided to no longer sacrifice the personal time at home. as most of you know that we've been married for the last 2 years i think it would be nice to see a little mini me or mini hubs walking around the house!

yeap i know i've been rambling on it but okay seriously i'm done.

weekend is over, things happened, words were uttered, friends had a get together, laughter was shared among the rest of us, anger was shown, emotions were illustrated, i guess all in all it was a complete weekend, *know your place, is needed here*

managed to show our house to friends, yes nothing to be proud of just yet as the house was filled with nothing but dusts, wall plaster, the dripping stain from the paint, the smell of turpentine, and everything else that goes with it. we managed to get the electrical done on saturday, they fixed in the light fixtures that we wanted and placed some of the lights properly, then the phone line, the rest of the wall socket and stuff! oh wait, except for the ding-dong-bell! we bought the stupid bell only to learn the darn thing is BROKEN! so yeah we've got to go change that thing. damn it. we are just not that kind of a shopper, once its broken we'll go back all the way to change it, but in this case i guess i'd have to go screw that apek off, cause he seemed pretty confident and cocky about his product.

i was looking through some e-invite, a friend recommended to use this for EVENTS http://home.services.spaces.live.com/events/ i checked it out and i find it rathe easy and useful woo hoo, now all i gotta do is just up date friends email address so i could invite them for the house warming through this... well either that or i'd just stick to facebook, but but but i like events, its main purpose is for this anyway. oh well, when i decide to invite my friends i'll decide which one i'll be using.

i just want to get the whole place sorted! now i gotta start packing...

neglected

i've been neglecting my blog for the last 2 weeks, not intentionally done, i just had no time at all. anyway, today i decided that i just needed to write a couple of lines at least... everyday life has been one big roller coaster ride, you just don't know what's going to happen.

so you just have to sit and enjoy the ride, well enjoying maybe for some, but some of us can't bare with the ride, and i kid you not!

so yeah conversations on the phone, speaking to operators, to personal assistants, to the directors, the managing director, managers and this and that was not as easy as i had thought, but then again no one said it was going to be easy... they're perpetually out, for a meeting, lunch, away, not in their respective rooms, gone off for a vacation, gone for haj, coming back next year and all sorts of answers you'll get. you name it, we've got it!

yesterday was the end of the 2nd week, i was just so lost! i was furious at the fact that i wasn't able to speak to the respective parties as they were all away!! so, i guess yesterday i would not have met my kpi's! damn it. it was an extremely exhausting day, and when i got home after dins, i decided to just sit and relax and watch sex and the city to get my mind of things, but instead after 10 minutes it was watching me!! and that my dear friends was at 9:30 p.m. who in gods name, who is 26 yrs old sleeps at this hour?? only a few months old babies does that!...

you see what i mean? not that i don't want to meet up with you guys, i miss you guys dearly!! but but but, i'm always so tired, i promise i shall make it up to you guys soon ok?? kisses. okay gotta go now, need to start working on the weekend project! the house!
